Manchester United deleted a post on social media advertising several Black Friday deals minutes after a clip emerged of Cristiano Ronaldo accusing the Reds’ owners of turning United into a ‘marketing club’.
Ronaldo took aim at the Glazer family during his interview with Piers Morgan, insisting that they ‘don’t care’ about the sporting side of the club. The 37-year-old has come under intense criticism for his interview, with the forward slamming several people, including his manager Erik ten Hag and a number of his former teammates.
The club’s Twitter post, which included a link to a Black Friday sale, was offering discounted prices on official membership, matchday hospitality, United Direct and museum and stadium tours. However, the tweet was quickly removed after Ronaldo’s comments surfaced.

A United fan shared a screenshot of the deleted post, writing: “Can only assume this @ManUtd tweet was deleted because everyone (like myself) wanted to know much @Cristiano was going for? Damaged goods normally go for cheap. #MUFC #ronaldointerview”.
Several other United supporters were quick to react to the post being removed.
Ronaldo had claimed that the Glazers only care about the marketing side of the club, before suggesting that the fans have the right to be angry.
“The owners of the club listen, the Glazers, they don’t care about the club,” he told Morgan. “I mean professional sport as you know. Manchester is a marketing club, they will get its money from the marketing, the sports they don’t really care, in my opinion.”
“Never, no,” he replied when asked if he has talked to the owners since returning to the club. “They give all the power to the president, sport directive.”
Asked if United supporters are right to be angry with the owners, he replied: “The fans are always right. The fans should know the truth, should know the players want the best for the club.
“I want the best for the club this is why I come into Manchester United, this is why I love this club. But you have some things inside the club that don’t help Manchester reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal for example. Which is complicated, it’s difficult, it’s hard. In my opinion, it will be hard for Manchester to be top of the game next two, three years.”
