Holy Cross has named Jeremy Thompson, an experienced leader in the field, as its new vice president for communications and marketing.

Starting on December 1, Thompson will serve as a key member of the president’s leadership team, overseeing all aspects of communications, marketing, and government and community relations efforts.

“Jeremy has an impressive track record of building teams and operations that are high performing and well respected; of engaging in relationships with stakeholders and partners across an institution to bring more voices to the table; of making data-driven and well-informed operational and strategic decisions; and of enthusiastically committing to a digital-first approach,” said Holy Cross President Vincent D. Rougeau.

“As we tell the stories and realize the vision of Holy Cross as one of the finest liberal arts institutions in the world, it is imperative that we translate the meaning and value of our Jesuit Catholic education to a new generation. We are well positioned to do that with Jeremy’s leadership.”

A longtime resident of Worcester County, Thompson brings to Holy Cross more than 20 years of experience leading communications and marketing in higher education and the arts, having dedicated his career to serving mission-driven institutions.

Thompson currently serves as the assistant dean for communications, marketing and graduate admissions at Boston University School of Law, where he has been since 2019. Before joining BU Law, Thompson worked as assistant vice president for marketing at Lesley University and as executive director of marketing and communications at Brooklyn College.

Thompson earned his B.A. in arts management from Western Michigan University and his M.F.A. in non-profit arts administration from the University of Alabama.

“From my very first conversation with Holy Cross, it was apparent that the students, faculty, staff and alumni are incredibly dedicated to the College’s mission and passionate about extending its reach,” Thompson said. “Furthermore, there is a genuine spirit of community and collegiality across the campus. I am delighted to join President Rougeau to help advance an exciting vision for the College’s future and deepen its connections with the Greater Worcester community.”
